About us

Stepping off the big wheel and seeing where we could make it on two smaller ones…

We spent summers in France conquering ‘cols’, swept up in the drama of the Tour de France. We cycled Tuscany, sampling incomparable food and wine at the top of vertiginous hill towns, and all the while wondered how we could translate some of this to the cycling culture back home. Claud the Butler was conceived as a side show to the main event – an homage to ‘the circus’ attached to the Tour de France. A proper cycling culture is in its burgeoning stages here in the UK and cTb aims to be riding this ‘new wave’ – fun, functional, cool and making our own small contribution to the cycling zeitgeist.  Fuelled by the very best coffee and cakes, naturally…
